Reduce del Vietnam, Vince (Bronson) coltiva meloni nel Colorado. Ingaggia dei lavoratori messicani guidati dalla sindacalista Nancy, ma si scontra con il racket della manodopera che lo incastra mandandolo in galera. Vince riesce a fuggire trascinando con sé un pericoloso pluriomicida, offrendo di consegnarlo alla polizia in cambio della libertà. Ma la banda del "rapito" vuole la sua pelle.
