Springsteen: Liberami dal Nulla, film diretto da Scott Cooper, segue Bruce Springsteen (Jeremy Allen White) nella realizzazione dell'album "Nebraska" del 1982, anno in cui era un giovane musicista sul punto di diventare una superstar mondiale, alle prese con il difficile equilibrio tra la pressione del successo e i fantasmi del suo passato. Inciso con un registratore a quattro piste nella sua camera da letto in New Jersey, l'album segnò un momento di svolta nella sua vita ed è considerato una delle sue opere più durature: un album acustico puro e tormentato, popolato da anime perse in cerca di una ragione per credere.
Il film vede nel suo cast anche anche Jeremy Strong nel ruolo di Jon Landau, storico manager e confidente di Springsteen; Paul Walter Hauser nei panni del tecnico di chitarre Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham in quelli di Doug, padre di Springsteen; Odessa Young nel ruolo di Faye, il suo interesse amoroso; Gaby Hoffman in quello di Adele, madre di Springsteen; Marc Maron nelle vesti di Chuck Plotkin e David Krumholtz in quelle di Al Teller, Columbia executive.
