Oliviero, scrittore fallito, erotomane e alcolizzato, che odia la moglie Irene viene sospettato di avere ucciso la sua amante. Ma grazie a un'imprevista testimonianza di Irene è scagionato dalle accuse. Qualche tempo dopo, nella villa di Oliviero qualcuno uccide la cameriera di colore. Temendo le conseguenze l'uomo, aiutato dalla moglie, ne mura il cadavere in cantina. Di lì a qualche giorno arriva la nipote Floriana, ragazza spregiudicata, che diventa l'amante della zia, di Oliviero e del motociclista Dario. La ragazza diventa testimone dell'odio che divide gli ospiti e assiste imperturbabile all'omicidio di Oliviero.
