Per salvare il loro unico rifugio, Percy e la sua banda devono imbarcarsi alla ricerca del leggendario Vello d'Oro in una odissea per mari inesplorati e popolati da creature infingarde che gli umani chiamano Triangolo delle Bermuda. Qualora Percy non riuscisse a ritrovare il Vello, Mezzosangue scomparirebbe per sempre e l'Olimpo crollerebbe.
