Un giovane impiegato delle ferrovie romane assiste involontariamente ad un omicidio di una prostituta. Per non aver fastidi, l'uomo decide di non denunciare il delitto. A questo punto però è proprio l'assassino a informare la polizia del crimine, fornendo i connotati del testimone. Il giovane, informato dai giornali, riconosce se stesso.
