In una villa di campagna vivono una madre cieca e i suoi quattro figli. La loro è una famiglia decisamente particolare, anche perché molti dei ragazzi hanno gravi problemi psichici. Fra questi solo Augusto sembra aspirare a una condizione di normalità borghese. Leone è subnormale e finisce affogato nella vasca da Sandro. Costui è epilettico e anche Giulia non è del tutto "a posto", almeno a giudicare dal modo con cui osserva il fratello morire durante una crisi di epilessia.
