Grazie ad un biglietto magico, il piccolo Benedict può entrare nel mondo del film del suo eroe preferito, Slater (Schwarzenegger). Quando Benedict e Slater sono nei guai, il biglietto viene utilizzato per il viaggio inverso: dalla finzione alla realtà. Ma qui le cose non vanno tanto bene per l'uomo che, nel cinema, era un vero superman, e Slater decide di tornarsene nella dimensione dell'illusorio.
