Due ex galeotti, Vic (Eddie Marsan) e il giovane inesperto Danny (Martin Compston), progettano il sequestro perfetto. O almeno così credono. La vittima designata è Alice Creed (Gemma Artenton), figlia di un magnate e l'obiettivo è, ovviamente, chiedere un riscatto milionario. Alice viene presa in ostaggio e rimane chiusa in una stanza legata ad un letto. Pur essendo terrorizzata la ragazza non si lascia sopraffare, cercando di difendersi dai suoi aguzzini. Vic e Danny non si aspettavano una reazione simile e il loro piano criminale comincia a vacillare.
